ok, i have searched and did my homework. I really love this fish and WANT it to be the fish for me. i here that they are and that they are not reef safe. my reef IS the most important part of my setup so my question is this. Is it worth the risk of putting a flame in there and if i do and it turns out to be a "bad seed" and starts nipping at my corals, how bad could it be? it will be one of the last fish that i will add in my aquarium when the time comes so i still have time to back out or move forward. please post your experiences with these fish and talk me out of him if ya can lol. hey, i was dead set on a blue hippo before swf.......oh well lol.

my buddies flame picks at the rocks all day...picks at the glass everything. there are some reef friendly angels but i wouldnt count on the flame you want being a nice guy towards corals

I have one in my 210 reef and is has been 99% reef safe the past 1.5 years. It did nip at my donut coral and kill it, besides that it is really a great fish.

Mine is great. Have plenty of established LR for it to pick at and feed it. Mine loves the emerald entree mixed cubes.
The reef safe part really depends on the fish. I have 2 try anything friends that have triggers in their reef tank, but they have to feed them plenty.

If you feed the flame a diet of natural foods such as Angel formula, formula 1&2 then it should be ok (no promises). They have a natural craving for coral but as long as that is satisfied they should be alright.
