Flame Angels for $25.

That's right! I just got home from *****. and found out that they are selling Flame angels for $24.99. The sales person told me that there was some kind of mistake made with their supplier and a total of some 6000 angels were being shipped to the stores. I'm not sure what stores will be carrying them but, we hit three in New Jersey that had them. I know that some out there only buy fish from specific stores and don't like buying fish from several different stores but, if you are in the market for a flame angel it's worth a trip or at least a phone call if you have a ***** nearby. Just thought I'd let people know (and "no", I don't work for ***** lol).

Two weeks ago the ***** by my house had a special shipment of Flame's, some guy had ordered them, and they were only $18. But like I said, you had to special order it.

I'm in Massachusetts and the *****'s here have decent fish selection. I usually don't buy a fish from them until I've seen it there for a couple of weeks and eating. They have a no return/guarantee policy. Prices are usually 1/2 of lfs though.
I've heard nothing but bad about PetClub. Too far, not worth the trip.

THE REPUTATION OF THE FISH IN ANY *****, OR ANY STORE FOR THAT MATTER, GREATLY DEPENDS ON THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FISH KEEPER. YOU CAN FIND GOOD AND BAD ANYWHERE.

Every store is profit motivated :)
If they weren't, they would be out of business...
The ***** by me has very little in the saltwater department, however ALL their tanks look incredibly clean and healthy!
Much cleaner and healthier than some of the LFS in the neighborhood :)
Just my opinion.

I recieved an ad in the mail from ***** saying buy any saltwater fish and get the second for 1 cent. Of course it has to be equal value and they limit you to $200, but that is a good deal. I've never bought fish from them, but I'm now interested. The reason this isn't going to work for me is because I only have one quarintine tank.

You know I kinda chuckled to my wife as I was typing in this original post. I knew that some out there didn't like *****. And to be honest with you I don't walk into their stores with 100% confidence. However, as stated before, every store is very different from the next. This past Saturday this point was made so very clear as we actually hit 4 different Petcos throughout the day (1 store didn't have flame angels)(these stores were no more than about 20 minutes from each other- the benefits of living in New Jersey). One store was horrendous with the way they took care of their saltwater section. Tanks were literally overflowing with water running down to the floor creating puddles. The same store had several dead fish sitting in the tanks (you almost can't avoid this to some degree but, these fish couldn't even be identified they had been sitting there so long). The place was very dirty! Definitely a thumbs down experience. However, we did put a flame on "hold" at the ***** nearest to our home. This store takes great pride in their fish section and it shows. And yes I did say, "put on hold". He set aside the flame we selected in a separate tank until we pick him up this week. Tank is marked "fish under observation" and only he, the one who tagged the tank (one of the managers) can remove the tag or fish (kinda like "lock out tag out"). He also went on to show me the fish he was ordering (actually put this lists in my hand), told me to look it over and let him know if I wanted to order anything specifically. In addition to this list was another list with his prices on everything they can order and the specials that were coming up, again asking if we wanted anything off these lists. With this kind of service I thought it only fare to give them at least one chance. I think if you aren't getting good service at "any" store you should complain to the manager or even the owner (without customers they can't exist). Why not E-mail ***** if you have had difficulties with their stores and request a response. After all is said, who knows, maybe when I go back to pick up my fish he will be gone (either sold or dead) then I will punch the manager in the face (only kidding) and add my name to the "disgruntled list".

I'm happy to say that last night I was able to pick up my flame Angel. He looks wonderful and seems to be comfortable in our tank. At $40. cheaper than lfs around here, I feel I got a great deal.

THE PRICES AT MY LFS ON FISH ARE PRETTY REASONABLE ALSO, BUT I CAN'T HARDLY WAIT FOR THIS WEB SITE TO START SELLING DRY GOODS. I BUY ALL OF MY DRY GOODS ON THE INTERNET BECAUSE OF THE SAVINGS. I HOPE THEY HAVE A LARGE SELECTION.
