last summer my Flame Hawk of 10+ months up and died. I found him behind my live rock in a corner. he was about 3 inches long.
He was a wonderfully adapted bugger and was shocked when he died.
I had not introduced any new fish or live foods for months.
I was just reading about Engineer Gobies and was shocked to find out that some have aggressive behavior, as mine is a shy one.
The LFS had had this goby for about 6 months and he already had adult markings.
About 6 months after I got him, the Flame Hawk died. Now my Flame Hawk could always hold his own. I had ruled out any foul play...but now I am not so sure.
The goby was about 7" when I got him and has barely grown. He is so shy that he gets only a fraction of the food. I give him sinking pellets and hope that he he gets enough from that and sifting the sand/eating copepods in the tank. It has been a year since I got him...so he must be eating something!!
Other then the Flame Hawk, I have not lost any fish and the water levels are ok
Could the goby have attacked the flame hawk????
thanks
