Flame Hawk okay with Mandarin?

Could anyone tell me if it's okay to keep a Flame Hawkfish with a Mandarin Goby? ***********.com says "Use caution when adding to an aquarium with small species of bottom dwelling gobies and blennies." Has anyone kept both in the same tank? Thank you in advance for any advice.

if the mandarin is real small relative to the hawks mouth, then there is a risk. but if not, no issue at all.

In my tank, the Mandarin was there first
, the Flame hawk was second
. Both were the same size. Not one problem.

Can't say for sure about any other set of circumstances.

I've had both with no problems. Mine never cared about each other at all. Now my occelaris clown didn't like my hawk at all....

Who came first? I understand usually the last fish introduced has the problem with adjusting.

Mandarin first. But I don't believe it really mattered. Two totally different fish, doing two totally different things ..PLENTY of rock......That's my experience....

I have a pair of Ocellaris Clowns in the tank, I didn't realize they might not like the Flame Hawk. The Hawk would be the last fish added. My Mandarin is about an inch and a half

Would a Longnose Hawkfish be a better choice for my community? Right now my tank is very harmonious and I'd like to keep it friendly.
(1) Royal Gramma
(1) Six Line Wrasse
(1) Spotted Mandarin
(1) Lawnmower Blenny
(2) Ocellaris clowns
(1) Blood Shrimp
(1) Emerald Crab

I think it is hard to beat the Flame Hawk. Those red eyes with black circles around them are cool. Mine has been with a pair of Ocellaris and there has never been an issue. How big is the shrimp? That may be your only issue with a Hawfish, but a fire shrimp may look intimidating enough a hawk would take a pass.

The Fire Shrimp is pretty much full grown and I just picked up a Cleaner Shrimp today that is maybe 1 1/2" long.

That cleaner could be expensive dinner for a hawk. Maybe some others can comment on their experiences with a hawkfish and a cleaner shrimp. My Flame Hawk shared the tank with a pepperment shrimp for 8 months, before it decided it wanted a snack.

I have a spotted hawfish when I got my cleaner shrimp. I found my hawkfish one day with a leg sticking out of his mouth. I haven't tried to get a shrimp since. I've been afraid he'll just eat them. Been thinking of moving him to my other tank (from my 55 to the 30) so I can have a cleaner for all my other fish.
