Flame Hawk

Hi all, I am possibly going to be getting a flame hawk tomorrow and I was wondering what kind of foods you guys feed yours. I know they eat meaty foods but i'm just not sure which foods are best.

they will eat your shrimp for one. lol.
so i would say chopped up frozen shrimp.

Thanks NEreef. Yes I know about them eating shrimp but my mom wants to get one anyway so I figured I would try to keep it well fed and see what happens. What kind of frozen shrimp, mysis or just regular shrimp.

I feed mine chopped shrimp and crab which I buy at the supermarket, chopped up finely and frozen at home. I thaw a little bit at a time in a 1/2 cup of tank water along with some frozen mysis shrimp bought from the lfs. I feed about every other to every 3rd day, once or twice a week I add frozen cyclopleeze to the water mixture also. Some of the fish suck this up and it also feeds some of the corals in the tank:
He also nibbles at the algae sheets I feed my tang....
Very easy fish to keep.
Love my flame hawk fish! He adds personality and color to my tank. Also movement in other areas some fish don't swim at, different heights, levels etc. He's been a great addition to the tank. Minds his own business .......

Thanks for the help rubytoo, it turns out we may not be getting one just yet though. We might get some rock and clean up crew instead, then get a hawk later.

i just got one from the ***** (though mone is very nice)!!! He was only $24 because they were on sale and he is beautiful and eating well!!! I love him!!!!
