Well logged on today and saw both the Flame Angel and the Coral Beauty are on sale and was wondering which on would be better for my 44 gallon tank . I know both say a 50 or bigger but can anyone give my some input?
Thanks

Which ever one you like better!
cough cough...flame.....cough cough
jeeze I can't stop coughing!
Do you have any corals or plan on getting any?
If so both angels could nip/eat them. 50/50 % chance.

Hmmm... I love my coral beauty. Subtle, but impressive that's how I would describe it, and very active.. For me the flame is like blue
eye shadow...

I have both in my reef but if I had to give one up, it would be the CB. The Flame is out and about more often then the CB. IMO, the Flame looks much better too, The CB is sorta dark and hard to see even when it is out.

Well I tell ya what.....Get two more tanks and keep one of each......

I personally like the coral beauty. I have one and it is out all the time, nice color and a all around beautiful fish.
Get which one appeals to you most, they are all nice...... :joy:

I have personally had more luck keeping the flame angel. The coral beauties I have had in the past didn't last over a year. I had one flame for 3 years, but it died when Katrina hit.

I think flames are bolder too. Both are gorgeous fish!!

I got a bi-color angel from my lfs 2 weeks ago and he is doing great.....what puzzled me though is the fact that they had him together with 2 other angels all in the same tank, a flame and a cream angel was with him...I thought you could not keep angels together? I asked the guy at the lfs "I did't know you could keep angels together?" and looked at me funny and siad u can....... but I'm not so sure... they were all getting along in the tank at the lfs, but I am confused. can someone fill me in on this?

Alot of times the LFS will put these types of fish together as they don't last long in the stores. Their hope is to bring the fish and move them out just as fast.

I've had a Coral Beauty in my 30gc for 2 weeks and it is thriving!
Looks better now than it did at the LFS. With 45lbs of LR, I didn't see it the first 3 days. Now, it's out and about all the time. Greets me when I go to the tank, knows the feeding schedule and will wait at one end of the tank, while I add
brine/mysis at the other end. Powerhead shoots it across the tank to the angel who swims into the flow to get the food. It's very cool to watch him!

Have had a coral beauty for almost a year no problems with nipping at corals. The colors really pop under my lighting as well. The coral beauty was the first salt water fish I bought and even though I was learning he has never even looked sick. Very hardy fish

Neato!!! Is it aggressive toward other tank mates??? I had to kick out a 6 line reef wrasse for harassment.
