flame scallop need help

I just got a new flame scallop yesterday and i did some reading in other post and read that they usually hang out in the sand. Mine some how jammed itself into a rock 6 inches off sand bed. Not sure if it can get out, of if I should just leave it there.
need help.

I had a gorgeous flame scallop. I put it in my tank in the afternoon and by the next morning, empty shell. I think my crab ate it...

I bought one, put it in my tank, and within minutes it shot into a cave and I haven't seen it since! I'm sure it looks great in there!
