Floor Sanding

Don't know if any of you have experienced this with a tank around. I'm planning on having my floors professionally sanded and then polyuretaned. I've had this done previously but didnt have my marine tank at the time. It's very messy when they sand. I'm thinking of covering the entire tank with a thin plastic dropcloth that painters use and taping the ends or seams together. I just dont want any dust or floor shavings to get into the tank.
They were told to go around the tank.

I wouldn't use plastic. How about big blankets or towels and then use strips of duct tape at the seems to hold it all together?
That's what I would do.
Just don't use the expensive linens or MY wife will kill you.

I'm actually having this done soon and wasn't sure exactly what I would do about my tank room. Thankfully it's enclosed but I'll still put something over the tank to be sure.
I think paint fumes and stuff would be more harmful to the tank than wood dust.

I was wondering about that too, if it's in a room by itself, i would probably try to seal the door and put a fan in the room to insure the fumes go straight out the window!

I'm not worried about the fumes. All that is is vapor, and that's heavier than air so it would drop down to the floor. In the past, the vapor was iflammable, one used to have to shut off any pilot lights. But now it's fine. Why not use plastic? Would it enclose too much heat from the lights?
