Floor Surfin!

I woke up this morning to find my Double Barred Spinefoot; commonly called a "Rabbitfish", laying dead on my living room floor!

He had jumped out in the middle of the night! Thankfully; the dog didn't decide to "play" with the fish or we would have known a lot sooner that he (the fish) took a dive. I'm now thinking about putting egg crate over my tank; it's a 125 with T-5 and PC lighting. I don't know how much the egg crate blocks the lighting. Anyone with imput? How much does egg crate block/defuse the lighting going into the tank?

I tried it, and hated it. It blocked a lot more of the light than I thought it would, and I have a very deep tank besides. I have 250 10k mh pendant.
I have an open top, and just avoid jumpers.

Thats sad..... Years ago I use to have 50g tank set up as a headboard for my bed, freshwater tank with Oscars. Woke up one day with a huge dead Oscar starring at me, he was about 8" away from my face, scared the crap outa me

Thanks all; I don't think I'll do the egg crate. I never have had a problem with jumpers in the past. Acutally I've had the Spinefoot for a number of years and this is the first time (and apparently the last) he's ever taken the jump.

Why not just cover with clear plex? I have it on mine with cut-outs where needed.
Still a chance they can hit a cutout but it lowers the odds. Is there a reason I shouldn't have it covered with plex? Anyone?

plexi or glass also difuses light, an open top is better also for gas exchange.

Things Im sure about:
Plex raises tank temperatures
Plex limits the amount of gas exchanged at the surface (incredibly important for marine tanks)
Plex gets salty from creep, blocking light as it goes on...needs to be cleaned continually
Thing Im not sure about, but have heard:
Some plex has uv-type blockers that I have heard can limit the amount of usable light in certain wavelengths that many coral etc...require.
