Yep, up here their stomachs seem to have more squid in them, as compared to tinker mackerel that are in the stomachs of keys fish. I do all my own rigging, especially because of the price they get for rigged bait. I started fishing for them about 10 years ago and learned from an old florida cracker, he taught me some amazing stuff. Back then the bite was believed to be down south off of Miami "that 2hr boat ride was a haul, now all of our trips are right of the Palm Beaches. We average one keeper a night, havent been skunked in 14 trips.
Sweet. I have never even tried for them before, but it sounds like good fun. Plus they make tasty steaks.
Whenever I'm "down South" I'm allways trolling for Dolphin, wahoo, tuna,....
I have never really gone after Sails before. Would love to get one but I am a fairly firm believer in catching something I'll eat later. Fuel is a little pricey these days to play for the fun of it.
