flow question

I have a 75 gallon with mostly LPS, live rock, sand, 2 clowns and a hippo.
I have one koralia that pushes 750 gph. I think my return pump is around 200 gph can't remeber exactly. but I do get dead spots which causes some algae and cyano. I have order another Koralia 750 that should be here this week. Will that be enough flow ?
Water comes into the DT in the middle and I have one Koralia near the top of the DT on one side near the back. It is pointed toward the middle of the front glass.
Where should I put the other one ? Maybe on the opposite side in exact opposite position ?
How does everyone else do it and how much flow is good and how much is too much ?

i dont know what the ratio is for lps corals but mine dont like direct flow, and i have a 110 gallon and i have around 2600 gal/hour.you want your corals to be flowing easy not blowing to the point that they're going to fall of the rock they're placed on. and i have a koralia 4 on both ends and i point them at the glass and let the flow reflect off the glass, and kind of aimed to the top for surface aggitation

two koralias pushing 750gph on each side doesnt sound like a lot of flow in a 75 gallon. u should try getting a #3 and #2 koralia minimum even for a lps tank. cyano bacteria isnt always caused by lack of flow. its very likely due to excess nutrients.

I am assuming flow is playing into the equation because I don't see how I could have excess nutrients. I only feed once a day. What else could be causing this ?

once a day is all it takes depending on what your feeding and how much you feed that 1 time a day. But yeah you do need more flow where you put it is up to you. I have a 180 and I have a little over 8000 gph.

LOL...I have 6 Powerheads in my 225G....on top of 2 canisters that I use for the flow bars (top of the water flow) and the return from my sump
You definitely need one in the center also.....I point my center one towards the front glass so the movement bounces off that and spreads outwards
and the others are on the sides...pointing to the front glass also at angle....

haha I am close I have 5 in mine got to have the one on the back pointing at the front glass so you can have no sand at the bottom front of the tank lol

Sounds like you need more flow AND a better CUC.
A hippo in a 75 is not a good idea, this is definitely adding to your problem.

I LOVE my MP40w!
They can add flow in ways that regular powerheads just can not.

yeah im thinking I need to spread that around its an 8 too i had to check lol. since its an extra high tank its angle more towards the surface than anything.
