Flow through a DSB fuge ?'s

Ok I am setting up a 220g tank. I will have a 75g sump/fuge and a 20g sump to hold the skimmer (in the prop tank stand). Does it actually hurt the denitrification process and/or phosphate removal by having fast flow? I want to just have a sump with the full 1700gph-head etc instead of sectioning it off etc. There will be close to 100lbs of sand. Is the slow flow more for the pods etc or for the actually removal of organics?

Slower flow through a fuge is better. 2x flow is ideal. You may want to consider some sort of diversion for the bulk of the flow

slower flow throgh a curlupa fuge is better but if you have a chato fuge you need to be around 15x your chato will die if you are only turning your fuge over twicce in an hour

But I believe that he is asking about the DSB filtration, not with full cheato.
Perhaps clearification of the original question would help.

Yep it will be DSB with Chaeto.

Yes, it still will. Get some rocks in there to create some more random currents rather than a straight linear water flow to help things out.
