Hey, I think it was one of you two that said you had two #4 koralias and a #2 in a cave or something in a 90 gallon tank. I was wondering if you could post a picture of the tank for powerhead placement. I had 2 #2's and everyone said that wasnt enough for a 90 gallon so I got 2 #4's and now even without the #'2 going it seems like I can't find a calm spot in the tank for my corals that don't need a ton of flow. I have a kenya tree and a couple pulsing xenias.
It should also be nothed that I have a wave tank. not a wave maker, an actual tank that has wavy glass on the front. In case this makes a difference on the placement.
Im also getting a spot almost dead center in the tank that the sand keeps moving out of this area right down to the bare glass. I have a 2" sand bed.
Im hoping it was one of you two that had that configuration, but i dont remember for sure.
Thanks

Hi Cranberry,
I was asking Fret about Mantis shrimp and she referred me to you. I was wondering if you might be able to tell me about them. all i know is that they are beautiful, Viscious and have really cool looking eyes and appendages. Is there any fish or crustys they can live with?
Im really interested in getting a mantis shrimp tank sometime down the road but i want to do some research on the propper way to care for them.Anything you could tell me would be greatly apperciated.!

Hey Handbanana, I suggust you should start your own thread in the inverts board instead of posting in other peoples. I dind't mind in mine because it was well..my thread. Wasn't getting a ton of replies anyways, but other people might not be so nice about it. lol I know you can't PM yet, but until then start a thread.

+1!! Well said my friend! I hate when people do this to me. At least if it had something to do with this thread and it was just a little off shoot question, but, come on.
Anyways, I think 2 Koralia 4s and two Koralia 2's in a 90G is overkill. What is your return pump rated at? I had the exact same amount of Koralia PH's in my 155! You may want to invest in a unit that turns differnt PH's on at different times so that you're not blasting your corals and fish all day and night.

BTLDreef,
I'm just using the two #4's right now. I hadnt intended on using the #2's anymore.
Don't fish get the same action day and night in the ocean?

I have 2 #4 and 2 moded maxi-jet in a 75gal. (I need alot of flow) and I'm not blowing thing over. I might move the top layer of sand in front middle every now a then but it's not much. The 2 #4's(on a wave maker) are on each end one mod in the back pushing down the glass and the other mod is on the back up high just under the water surface.

i use a #4 and a #3 plus the 800 gph return pump.
i do have trouble keeping a small section of sand in place in the front but the corals do awesome in there.

my rock formation is temporary for a few more days so I didnt really want to glue any of the frags i have to anything in case when I change things around it desnt work out real well. But if i leave them my kenya tree only gets about 1/4 height and tips over obviously. My zoas are so small tehy get blown off whereever i put them (only 4 polyps on each piece I have) and my xenia just doesnt seem very happy, probbaly because I keep moving it :p
I'll give both #4's a try again.

I just noticed your request...here ya go.
I did my best at showing my water flow for my 90g. I use 1 #4 and 2 #3s in the back and 1 #2 for my cave. The little #1 I use for churning my saltwater when I mix it and no longer have it in the tank. I have 2 canister filters. One output tube is pointed to the surface of the water and the other has a spray bar attached vertically for water flow behind my rocks.
Oh and a picture of Mine and my Moms menorahs tonight…Happy Chanukah! Shabbat Shalom.

What was the anemone question? You can always PM me. I am online at early morning when I first get home from work, around 7:00 AM and again just before leaving for work, like around 7:00 Pm til 9:00Pm
