well i put it about halfway up in my tank and it hasn't really done anything different. do y'all think i should try and spot feed it some Marine Life Phytoplankon or DT's? i have been putting both in the tank, but haven't spot fed it.
what do you think my next move should be?

thanks for the advice
I used to turn off all of the flow in the tank before spot-feeding mine. I fed it finely minced seafood (particles roughly 1mm or smaller). I chopped it up really well while it was frozen (til your arm feels like it is going to fall off).
I could actually see the seafood bits getting engulfed and moving down the inside of the tentacle to the base of the coral. Mine still died before the 8 month mark though

You could feed it phyto, but you may want to use supplemental feeding of seafood at least once a week or so.

thanks, i'm about to try that. i have some frozen shrimp that i cut up and thaw and feed my eel, so i'll try that. i may have to get me a coke bottle and cut it off to keep it around it.
i'll let you know how it goes

I found some old pics of my flowerpot corals in their glory days. They are no longer with us

The last pic is proof that flowerpots actually ingest meaty foods when spot fed.

well i cut some shrimp up as tiny as i could, and spot fed. the only problem is that really none of the heads are out to eat it. the "crown" is just out of the skeleton. so we will see. i don't think it did anything though

I've seen that happen before and with 2 different flowerpots, and 1 survived and the other didn't...

well today is a new day, and the flower pot is actually looking better. my lights were due to come on at 9:30am, and i left work just a minute ago and went home and looked at it. most all of the heads are starting to come out. maybe it will be ok. just have to wait and see.
any more advice on the flower pot or a candy cane would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a Green Goni in my tank for well over a year now. I dont even spot feed it either and it has done greatand still continues to grow. I guess I have just been lucky.
