i have a 10g that iam trying to turn into a reef tank. my ?'s are in the lighting department. i have a 2 light hood. the lights are 13w fluorescent which says equals 60 watt power so its around 120 watts down to 12watts a gallon. so should i stick with softies like rics, yumas, zoos, shrooms, and anything else you suggest
. or can my light support acropora, stylophora, a brain, candy cane, a hammer, some kind of anem., or a clam, or andthing u would like to suggest if i can support such a coral??

i can always take a pic of the box or give the deets if they are needed

Stick with the soft corals. Your lighting will work for those.
Also, go with the 13W rating and not the 60W conversion. The conversion means it equals a 60W incandescent bulb, but that means nothing for your tank.

so its more like a true total of 26 watts and not 120watts incandescent. so iam lookin at like 2.6 watts per gallon. and should stick to softies?

Yea it's the 26W. Try not to use the watts per gallon formula. It's very inaccurate in measuring how much light you have, especially in smaller tanks such as what you have.
Start off with some softies then if you feel comfortable you can try adding some LPS.

ok thanks i try not to use any of those equations like inch of fish per gallon watts per gallon and so on but i figured this will be my first reef and that seems to be the rule of thumb in my research. i will stick with the zoos yumas rics and shrooms and up grade from there if i can support those. any reef fish u would suggest for a 10g. i know its small i thinkin just a cleaner shrimp and firefish or two.
