Has anyone redone the lights on this setup to power compacts ...the halogens are obviously no good. Any help would be appreciated...and if so what did you use. I want this tank for my mantis.

i wouldnt trust this tank to stand up to a mantis shrimp.

the thickness seems to be about the same as any nano out there if not thicker i think... anybodt else care to chime in

i was more concerned with the design of the tank than the thickness of the glass. mantis shrimps have been known to break the glass on regular aquariums and the bottom panel of the edge doesnt have much to support it except for the stand in the middle. i just prefer to err on the side of caution. does it say anything about the bottom glass at least being tempered?

Not here but, on the nano site I think the custom one and on the big cola site, I have seen lighting mods for this tank. There are direct LED replacement bulbs for it. There is also one I saw that moded the lighting using under cabinet LED pucks from the big orange home store.
