I know that on a different site, it says that fluvals are fish only filters. but has anyone had success with one in a reef tank. and if possible please recomend a filtration system. thanks!

Fluvals do great on reefs, i had a 404 on my 55 reef for about 8 months, never had any filter related problems, IMO its the best filtration for smaller reefs along with a protien skimmer(besides a good sump with skimmer and refugium)

could not imagine that a skimmer could pull out that much more crap than my wet/dry could catch in the pre filter. btw I was wrong

if it worked so good, why did you stop using it?

yes they really pull stuff out of your tank when you thought it was cristal clear + your coral will perk ur as well. I will never run a tank without one agein

I have one on my 54g reef and I love it. It is great on a smaller reef system but when I go to my 125, I will be using a sum/ref.

I had a fluval 304 on my 29 gallon for awail. It worked great, but I wanted to hide some equipment so I got a wet dry.
