I am so mad right now. My fluval 304 won't seem to stop leaking. I opened it up to replace/clean the inside and when I closed it it wouldn't stop leaking. from the sides where the latches are at there are two holes in the sides and that is where is leaks from. That was about 2 months ago.
Now I tried it again and it still does the same thing. I tried putting teflon tape on it but it still leaks. I tried to silicone some part of it but with no luck. Now it really leaks from the part where you have to pump it. The Handle thing goes up and starts leaking from there. If this doesn't stop somehow I'm going to strangle myself. I don't know what to do. The seal is good.
Has this happened to anybody and if so howw did you fix it. I'm not the person that gets mad. but this is turning my face red.

I have an older 403. What I had to do once was replace the o-ring and I also replaced the many (6 ?) snap connectors that go around the can to hold it tight. I put the o-ring as low as I could go and keep it on so as I pushed the lid down it forced the ring into the place it wanted to be. I don't know if your newer model has any of that technology remaining but sometimes a replacement part for $3 is worth the effort. Silicon stuff is cheap but if things are fitting together right to make a leak you have to step back and do it all over again from the start and see what is not seated.
