FO with LS

I am looking into doing an FO tank and was considering using CC but ive been reading about the benifits of using LS. I dont plan on doing a reef in this tank (29g) , so i was wondering how deep would i need to make the sand for this tank and aside from purchasing LS online, how might one go about seeding regular sand used in marine tanks, is there some sort of stuff you buy to seed sand

Welcome to the board. Live sand is heads above crushed coral. You can seed live sand with
1. Your live rocks beneficial creatures will crawl down to the sand
2. Buy a little bag(10lb) bag from your lfs.
2. is probably your best option I know my lfs sells it at about 1.50 a lb, so thats not to bad.

Oh yeah and the evil giant petc@ sells it to, about 20 bucks for the ten pound bag

thanks for the info do you happen to know if i would have to make the sandbed as deep as someone would who was doing a reef tank?
