I've seen this done with FW tanks back in the day .... some people like the color effect it gives. Believe it or not.

i have seen it done to fresh water tanks but never a salt water tank... the gold fish and bettas at the yearly fair always have colored water here... i too want to know why you want to tint your water... why not just get a colored background???

Marine stuff is sooo colorful as it is. Adding any type of coloring IMO will discolor the beautiful colors that are already there. Lighting makes a big difference also with the color.

give it a try! or not... at least with any fish... try a mushroom or something and if that goes good try clams and sps and if that goes good try a damsel and if that goes good try your whole tank (i wouldnt)

all it will do as an organic is break down like most other organics naturally and any light colored corals have a chance of being stained, this is how many corals are dyed by irrepretutable sellers to make them more colorful, generally it seriously shortens the life of the creature though I am not sure why. I would say overall NO for the longevity of your animals.

I would NOT do it just because. The coloring you see in Beta bowls is actualy liquid food. They add it to the water so they do not have to worry about feeding them daily.

It's a troll post because the op doesn't have any post count and their first thread is something to get a rise out of everyone, don't feed the trolls for god's sake!!! They will bring more.....
