Lighting is the best food. What kind do you have? You can spot feed it with shrimp or some kind of marine fish about once a week. They also need a well established aquarium and perfect water conditions.

Lighting isn't food. Its the zooxanthellae algae that live within the tissue of the anemone that absorbs the light and chemically processes it into energy and nutrients and whatever is left over the anemone gets. You can still have "proper" lighting and have an anemone bleach on you (starve). Supplementary feedings imo are a necessity. At least feed your anemone 1x a week. Feed silversides or chopped up pieces of shrimp.
JPardi, what do you call proper lighting? PCs? MH? T5s? VHO? What size tank do you have and how long has it been up and running?

I think it's kinda obvious that light isn't food. The point I was trying to make is that lights are very important. I guess it came out wrong. Anemones should have MH lights IMO and be fed weekly as I said before.

So, since the "zoos" live inside the anemones and provide them energy, does that make them jedi in training, ie., mydachlorians?

Anemone just require a protein source, it doesn't really matter what it is. Krill, Scallops, Shrimp, fish meat, etc. all good protein.
