Food for pods?

I just bought a Mandarin, so I want to make sure I'm doing everything to keep up a healthy pod population. I hope I'm not asking this question a day late. Anyway, I have about 80lbs LR in my DT, and 15lbs in my fuge, along with a good bit of rubble. I feed Kent's phytoplex a few times a week, or Marine Snow, but I use the Kent's the majority of the time. I also throw in a couple of shrimp pellets in my fuge a few times a week, and they love that. They'll swarm those. I've got a good pod pop, with the majority of them being 1/4 to a 1/2 inch long. I occasionally see a few dead big ones floating in the water. I just want to make sure I'm feeding them well enough to be able to keep up with a Mandarin.

Normally all they need is a bit of waste and normal feeding combined with a safe place to breed and multiply. They can be prolific breeders and can easily sustain a healthy population if provided a refugium.....but manderians can easily over harvest even healthy populations.
