Food, that isn't food.

Ok, there are some things people eat that just should not be classified as food.
1. Tofu.....a bland white cube. No flavor, no calories, just a mass of white mystery substance. Yet this has made it's way into our culture some how and dietary intake. Why? Seriously, it provides nothing....no taste, no benefits, no calories, no sustanance. May as well eat air. Stop calling this food please.
2. Rice cakes. Ok, this is just dumb. First off it taste nothing like rice, In fact air has more flavor (thank you pollution). Looks like rice, well rice crispies, but without the marshmallow goodness and sugar. It also contains the word cake. There is not one single cake like feature in this lame product. cake taste good, has calories, and other goodness (like frosting and sugar). So henceforth this lame "food" Item will no longer be known as rice cakes and will furthermore no longer be placed in the food category. From this day forward call this item white crap.
Any other "foods" that should not be classified as food?
Discuss.

According to scripture:

1. Any fish that does not have scales and fins is not food for you - That means all sea food is not food! Crabs, shrimp, octopus etc..etc..
2. Any animal that does not chew the cud and
has a split hoof. That means - Horses, pigs, bunnies and turtles are not food for you.
Works for me

3. Liver "Yuck"

Tongue is NOT FOOD. I'm not sure if this has made its way into other's homes but my family members love this nastiness. Tongue should not be eaten, under any cicumstances.
A receptionist at my work always talks about duck's blood soup. Again, aren't there things that we just don't need to eat? Just because it comes from an animal doesn't mean that we need to serve it for dinner.

Boogers!!!!
and tofu takes on the flavor of what it is cooked with. Besides having loads of protein, it can go into a stir-fry and not change the flavor of the veggies. (or in soup) There are also different types of tofu.

Food comes with it's own flavor. Anything that has to steal flavor from other food just so it can have flavor is not a food. That is a napkin.

When did bunnies get hooves? I believe your translation is wrong as well, otherwise God wouldn't have provided Manna for the jews while crossing to the promiseland.

Cow tongue is delicious, wonderful texture, taste, and isn't fatty!

Bunnies don't quite fit in that list do they.

Hi Everyone,
Jews aren't allowed to eat anything from the sea that does not have scales and fines. Some sea critters have fins but no scales. A shrimp for example.
Bunnies chew a cud but have paws, not hooves, so it is not meant for Jews to eat either.
Also we are never allowed to eat or drink blood.. That's why we "Kosher" our meat with salt to draw all the blood out.
G-d wouldn't send a lighting bolt on Sabbath, your learning something about G-d believe it or not. A very Sabbath thing to do.

I am assuming you are Jewish. Where does manna fit in to this?
Crap, I just turned my own thread meant to have some humor into a debate....

Learning weather you want to or not!

It's not a debate!!
But an honest question..I Hope!
What is Manna?
Exo 16:14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
Food that is not dairy (milk and cheese) or meat (Beef or Lamb) is called Parve.
For observant Jews, keeping Kosher means, we don't mix meat or dairy together. Parve, which is what manna would be. Could be eaten with either meat or dairy.
Manna is not around today. It was food given by G-d while we traveled from Egypt to the land of Canaan, after reaching our destination the manna stopped.
An example: A potato, an orange or a slice of bread would be parve. I could eat it with a meat meal or a dairy meal.
Hope this answered your question.
