NudiLove since you are a photographer, what would you recomend for a digital camera for land/underwater use? I'm looking to stay under $1000. I want to take good pics for my upcoming trip to Hawaii and my tank when it gets set up. Tried the disposable and am looking for something better. Thxs :notsure:

Hm...Well...
I will always recommend the Canon 20D which you can get on ---- for great deals now, around 1000 without fancy lenses, or even costco.
However, the underwater housing price is ATROCIOUS.....
Canon Powershots and wonderful and fit MANY underwaterhousings, around 4-500 for the cam and 400 for a GREAT housing.

I appreciate the reply, I will look into this camera and see what I can do. I guess link was not posted I not sure if if you can send it to me but you can email me via site. I also got a rec for a sea & sea DX-750G, good price but not sure...any feeling on that camera? I will post fish pics from Hawaii when I get back 7/28, also see my thread under equipment and tell me what you think.

Sea & Sea is nice, not so good above water shots IMO, but a nice allaround camera.
Just google Canon 20D , or ---- it, or Costco.com it... Costco has a lovely deal w/ two lenses, but its nigh on impossible to get an underwater housing.
Costco also has a great selection of Powershots, just search for it, I'll see if I can scrounge up an underwater housing link,.

Found the 20D nice camera but a little much for my budget w/o the housing. Could not find anything under powershot at Costco? is it a Cannon? Do they make underwater housings for any of the other cannon cameras on the site? Thxs

thanks, I looked at the sites and found a Nikon Coolpic 7600 7.1 megapixel for $170 refurbished, housing runs $300 at the site you gave. Any comments? :joy:

Im a stickler for canons of course, but Nikon is my second choice, make sure it has tons of variable shutter speeds and you'll be good to go, I highly recommend getting the additional underwater flash, or all of your shots will come out green with the particulate in the water being brighter than anything else.
