i guess i must thank THOMAS for this....
I HAVE GOTTEN MY CLOWN TO HOST MY FROGSPAWN AND MY HAMMER CORAL! i saw how others used pictures of other clowns in anemones and posted the pics on their tank. well i figured i might as well try and it worked!!!!! im soooo stoked right now! i cant believe it. i will post pics asap i dont have my camera with me, i think i left it in my dorm. anyway, for those who are trying, DONT LOSE FAITH!!!!!

very kewl....definitely post the pics if you get some.
Just a note of caution ... sometimes its not a good idea for clowns to host with LPS type corals. It could stress them and result in problems for the corals. Often times its not a problem...but there is a potential...so I'd keep a eye on the coral just in case.

i kept that in mind, the coral doesnt seem stressed at all. lights are out right now so im going to wait afterwork tomorow to take some good shots. today he was testing the coral and by the end of the night he seemed fine and comfortable. he also hosts my hammer coral which i am amazed by.

im kindof frustrated because he wont stay still in the frogspawn. everytime i get near the tank is goes in and out of it quickly. forgive the shots, i tried my best but here ya go




im thinking right now he's testing the coral or stinging himself because he doesent seem to just "roll" in it. he brushes in and out and generally stays near/in it. any ideas?

i just used the pics someone posted on a earlier thread and got a good one off of google images. I CANT BELIEVE IT WORKED!

thats awesome!! congrats!!! was the pic of clowns and frogspawn, or just a pic of clowns and an anemone? gonna have to do a sneak attack for that pic :joy:

its interesting, when i take the picture down he doesent seem to hang in the frogspawn as much, how long should i keep it up for?

how long have you had the picture up and how many?i have a 12 gal nano cube and i put up 2 pictures. it took my clown about a week and a half to host a FROGSPAWN! you should have no problem getting them into a bubble tip. just keep it up it works! a good tip that i did...feed them by the anemone, but make sure you have your pics up. i did that right before he started hosting so it might have worked. but on the real, keep it up.

My clown hosts both the huge frogspawn and the huge hammer I have also. He goes back and forth from one to the other but he usually sleeps in the frogspawn at night.
