Now that my clown is eating and happy! :jumping: :D See previous thread for GS Maroon not eating. I think that she is feeding her cubby hole in the rocks. It is funny to watch, she will grab a live brine shrimp or a pellet and take back to her home drop it in and then come back to eat. I know that my tank is to new for an Anemone right now, but how long should you wait before attemping this and in your opinion what is the best type of lighting for a 75 gallon tank (48L x 18D x 20H)? :notsure:

Well you can get condilactus anemones pretty fast, they are the most hardy of anemones. For the other anemones 6 months is recommended. Also, in my opinion the BEST lighting you can get is an Aqualight Pro HQI/ Compact Fluorescent/ Lunar Light Fixture. I just got mine and it is amazing!!! It has the single most output from a single combination unit and allows you to keep any coral/clam/anemone you want! For your tank the 48" gives off 492 watts, 2 150 watt metal halide, 2 96 watt PC, and has 3 lunar lights. That's almost 7 watts per gallon allowing you to have mostly everything in your tank. However it is expensive, but if you wanna do it right, get this!! If you want to see a real pic of it go to this, its my new tank progression pics, has a picture of the light

In my 75 I'm useing 2 175 15k MH with 2 atinic VHO and I'm now experenceing the anemone life. It's great but I got alot to learn. This set up cost me close to $450 give or take a few depending on the brand you want. I went with PFO equipment one of the best out there I think. And I agree with waiting at least 6 months before introducing an anemone. They die easily and you need to test your water quite often.

Thanks for the reply's, F1shMan thanks for the pic's that helps to see the set up. Right now I have a canopy, so guess that will have to go. WWFstyle, I am going to check out those lights as well. Since I have a couple of months will do my research on lighting and start saving up now. Going to Vegas in August, maybe we will hit the JackPot! :jumping:

Hi WWF, My husband currently works overseas in IRAQ
and he is coming home for 10 days! :jumping: That is where he wants to go, which I have no problems with! :D We are actually going the 15th thru the 18th, maybe you will win what I usally lose
I have a good friend that goes to Vegas about once a year for pool tournaments and it sounds like a lot of fun. I know that John loves boxing not sure how he feels about UFC. I am sure though that he would love to see it live, not so sure I could handle it though..... Good luck to you and your team!

At least 6 months before any anemone is attempted, and not a condy, they are not a hosting anemone, least not normally.
For lighting on my 90 I use a system that used to be over a 75 gallon.
440 watts of VHO and 500 watts of MH.
