forked plumbing?

ok have a wet dry filter with a place for 2 hoses. i would think that my overflow box would need 2 hose fittings at the bottom, but my lfs said that i could fork the hose so i would only need an overflow with 1 hose fitting. it this correct im confused please clarify? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

You really don't have to use both those fittings. But if you could get an overflow with two,it would be best.(more water flow)....If you only have one hose off of your overflow, just run it to the filter without splitting it.No need to make it more complicated than it needs too be.

One problem I had with trying to split it is alot of gurgling noise. The water was getting split and slowed down by the fork..Much more flow to just put a bigger tube on it and let it run direct
