Formalin Question-Need to know!

The suggested treatment for Brooklynella is a Formalin bath. The post found on these boards states 20 drops per gallon of water. Yet my bottle of Formalin says 2 drops per gallon of water. I followed the bottle's 2 drop/gal instructions but was curious about the discrepancy. Can anyone answer this?

My clown that died last night, I'm convinced died of Brooklynella and not Ich...My other clown looks to start showing signs so I have rushed to the store and set up mini-hospital in a bucket....He's bathing now. Actually, looks more like a 'she' - belly seems quite engorged...could she be expecting????
Any help is of course greatly appreciated!

The discrepancy is that the bottle of formalin is recommending for long term treatment; the treatment for brooklynella posted in the FAQ Topic, top of this forum, is specific for a formalin bath...not long term treatment.

Thank you so much for the clarification Beth.

Please re-read the procedure detailed in the FAQ Topic carefully. Formalin is a serious medication, and needs to be administered with care.
