Found Anemone

Melissa,
Get a syringe from your local CVS,,,, like a needle BUT the end is a bit duller. Microwave some PLAIN old water.. boiling, and inject it IN the Aptaisia hole (cuz it may retract) just zap it.. it should die immediatly and NOT spread. It also will NOT harm your other tank mates.. :joy: OR anything else on the rock because you are being exact with the syringe.
If you cant find a good syring, e-mail me, I work in a dentist office and I use irrigating syringes, they work AWESOME! Or you could go to your dentist and ask if you can purchase one.. they should sell you one OR GIVE you one.. they are like 30 cents to the dentist... but someone might charge you a buck or two, well worth it because of the needle type tip.
Ask for an ENDO IRRIGATING SYRINGE... thats what you want.
Hope this helps, KIm

How well do the peppermints work at getting rid of aip and if it is mojano will they eat that too? The reason i ask is because it would be really hard for me to try to get mine with the hot water because they are on the back side of a rock on the bottom of my tank and the only way for me to get to them would be to take down all of my rock

Kim Kissy,
Thank you that does help. I read that you can do the same with the lemon juice but like i siad prev i am so NOT comfortablewith adding that kind of thing to my tank, it is still somewhat new and that last thing i want after getting all the levels perfect is for things to start dying off!!
As for the syring i have one that is used to inject ink into an ink cartridge it is a flat ended syringe would that work?

I do not have an eel, but I have heard that they will eat anything that is small, like a shrimp. And no, they won't stay small! My LFS told me to definitely not buy one unless I had atleast a 200 gallon tank, as those little bitty guys get atleast 18 inches long! I don't think your tank is big enough.

I have the same exact thing. It isnt aiptasia for sure because i know what those look like. Not quite a majano either. I tried taking a pic but it is much to small for the camera. It can extend its tenticles as well. Very thin tenticles with white ball tips. Ill keep trying to get a pic of it.

My two peperment killed three aip in about 30 mins on a new piece of live rock I bought. They made quick work of them. Hey if you get a peppermint shrimp and it goes straight for the anemonies then you know that it is an aiptasia. They love to eat them.

Do they have a bright green base that they go into at night?

The base on mines is more of a purplish color. This isnt aiptasia or majano. Kinda weird looking. It fully extended and my camera cant focus on it. Ill see if i can draw it or something.

the base of mine is kind of a tanish orangeish pinkish color and they seem to be more extended at night
