found yucky thing

ok cleaning the tank today.. found white maggot sized worm things in my back of the tank filter system.. what are they and are they good or bad..

Attached to filter or swiming around loose? If attached they are likely a type of small feather duster.

attached to inside walls of the case and on outside of filter none are just floating about they are white and soft to the touch.. if they are feathers then what.. they kinda creep me out
