Here is picture of the algae that is rapidly spreading through my tank. It has the color of Coraline algae, but this stuff is slimy and can be cleaned from the rocks very easily?? I thought coraline was a very rough algae? Any idea what it is? Good/bad? Water condition is perfect. Tank is a 120gal.

I seem to have this same stuff going on in my 90 gallon fish only tank. Today i did a water change, I also scrubed all the rocks, cleaned all shells etc. My fish are doing fine. All water readings seem to be ok at the moment. But before the water change I did notice the PH was a bit low. Could that have casued this growth of algae? Since the water change things look beautiful as ever but I'm woundering how long it will take for all this red stuff comes back. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Ugh, its nasty stuff.
I couldn't get rid of it until I moved and had to take the tank down.
Good luck to you, though.

I am pretty sure it is related to changes in water quality. Check your levels, the fluctuation was the reason I had it. Also, any added watts, or new bulbs...
