I have a 90 gallon tank and for fish i have 3 green chromis, 2 true perc clownfish, lawnmower blenny, royal gramma, purple firefish, yellow watchman goby, flame angel and my foxface. He is not normal though every time someone goes up to the tank even me he freaks out hides and waits till everyone goes away but what makes me mad is he freaks out like 20 times a day and when he gets scared he scares all my other fish and then they hide too. They only hide for a min or two but it happens constantly all day long. Is there anything i can do to change this bahavior? Ive had the foxface a little over a month.

I feel your pain mine does the exact same thing. Mine will get stressed when i come around hide and then change colors. The only thing that will bring him out is food. Then he goes crazy..

I have a Lo. Its so frustrating i can't even enjoy the tank because the second i go up to it he freaks out and then everyone hides as well. I never had that problem before.

Umm Maybe spend alot of time looking at him.. And just maybe he will come out and be ok.... I'm not sure... I would say try a tang but a 90 gallon is small for a tang... I spend alot of time looking at them and my foxface is now starting to eat out of my hand....

Mine was like that for a while too but now that he sees that the puffer doesn't freak when I come to the tank he is pretty much OK most of the time. He still has his moments though.

Mine was also quite skittish when I got him. I purchased 2 Tangs afterwards and I think their presence mellowed him out.

i agree w/ most these people....try to sit out in front of the tank while you feed them so they get used to you and find you as a source of food rather than as a potential predator...their hunger almost always overcome their fright once they know theres food in the tank...i had a foxface for almost 3 years now...started about 5 inches now is bout 9 inches and he still runs from me for most part

My foxface used to do the same thing & I agree with one of the above - get a tang! My foxface & my bluehippo tang are the best of friends - they are always together and he's calmer when the tang is around. You just have to get the foxface used to you. We're in front of our tank ALOT and whenever we have friends over, they are glued to the tank Foxie (our foxface) got used to people being around - now we can stick our hands in the tank when we do landscaping and he just swims around us - never tries to hurt us thank goodness!
So I suggest just spending alot of time in front of your tank. It worked for us. Good luck!
