Foxface shedding???

Has anyone heard of fish shedding??? I have a foxface thats about a year old and 4" long and about once a week its skin will turn kinda pale and will start to fall off. Its alot like when a snake sheds its skin only not in one huge piece. After the layer of skin is shed off his color is all back to normal, bright yellow. Has anyone ever heard of this or seen it and if so is it a normal. He has been shedding ever since I bought him. :notsure:

Yep - a foxface will shed. Transluscent wispy things that float in your tank, right?
My lionfish shed as well...had one get startled the other day and *POOF*...left behind a boatload of shedding in his wake.
Nothing to worry about.

Thanx a ton for the info. Im glad its not a disease or somthing. The gross thing is he thinks its food.

I was wondering what those wispy things floating around in my tank were! We have a foxface lo and v. lion. I see those all of the time. I was trying to figure out what food I was feeding that was leaving those!
