frag tank addition

does anyone add a frag tank that is supported off of the display tanks water supply and filtration.
i have a 1/2 wall right next to my tank and the height would be perfect for this set up. (or is my theory flawed and i dont see it?)

that would work fine.
Or you could place the frag tank between the level of the sump and the DT such that the water flows from the DT to the Frag tank to the sump then gets pumped back up to the DT

that would eliminate one electrical outlet use (pump) but harder to do in my situation (overflow design)
