I tore down my 12g aquapod about 4 months ago and now I wanted to try a small frag tank.

I went to Lowes and tried to find some egg crate and the workers there had no idea what I was talking about (I hate Lowes). I went down the road to HomeDepot and foud it immediatly!
Here are a few pics...
and please feel free to give advice

Im picking up some LR tomarow. Should I crcuh the LR into smaller chunks and keep it at the bottom? Maybe lay a small sandbed down and them the rocks in the middle? I was also thinking about keeping some sort of fish(just one) and a shrimp.

lol sounds like you want a nano tank.
If you are starting a frag tank you don't need any rocks or sand in the display.
You could break the rocks into rubble and put it in one of the back chambers for filtration. Maybe a peppermint shrimp or cleaner shrimp for parasites (I'm not too sure about that thought).
Get a nano skimmer 'cause you'll want to feed the corals tons of microvert food and additives for growth.

Well it took me a little longer than I thought but I got some LR.
I decided to place some LS and LR at the bottom of the tank. It only took about 3 weeks to cycle and everything looks great.
I have added a yellow tail damsel and a pistol shrimp (my buddy hated the clicking noise so he gave it to me) to the tank. I also added 3 hermits and 1 turbo
An emerald crab, star fish and black cuc came with the LR. Lucky me?

Please tell me what you think.
Is the rack to high? Should I add more than just Cal/Alk

Some sort of red sponge that came witht he LR. I also took some Green Star pollups from my buddy and I also bought 4 zoa pollups from my LFS,,,they were so small I can't tell what kind they are.
Does anyone think that they are too close to the top? Will it hurt?

If it is the stock PC lights I think it'll be fine.
One suggestion: Maybe make a 2 or 3 layered rack so you can have varying degrees of light for the corals.
Also I heard that sponges don't like like. But I'd look into that more, I'm not to sure. It is looking good though!

I took the advice and I made a layered rack a couple a days ago. I also went to a new LFS I never saw before and got a good price for a trumpet, and small zoa colonies that fell of there mother colony in the DT.
I'll post some pictures when I get home. I might actually get some more frags tonight...when I do Ill post the pics.
Does any one have any information for me?
Is the water flow ok? maxi 900
