Frag Tank Light Question

I am setting up a frag tank this afternoon. i know how to do everything i want in it, but my question is this: how long each day should i leave the lights on?

I run mine for 14 hours MH.

does an algae breakout not occur??

I set up a fraf tank a few months ago. Some points to remember. Make sure you have your racks exactly where you want them allowing room for your algae scraper to get between the rack and the glass. Keep an eye out for cyano,its a common problem with new tanks,even if you tie it into an existing system. Also make sure you have plenty of flow in there,it will help with the cyano as well as keeping detritus suspended. I run my t-5s 12 hours.

Not yet. It has been running since april.
