Frag tank set up ideas

I have 2 xtra 10gallons, and one of them is a cycled 2 year old FW
Well, I want to turn that into a frag tank...
My questions:
Can I use gravel?
How much lighting?
Do I need gravel or sand at all?
Can I use it as a QT too?
Thanks

dont use gravel.
lighting depends on what you plan on fragging
substrate isnt neccessary
if your still adding fish, then a QT would be a good idea.

i would do a shallow sand bed, some egg crate racks and a 96w PC light. a HOB trickle filter, a small powerhead, heater and thats all you should really need.

10 gallons are nice once set up. They are very sensative to sudden changes though and need to be monitored quite often. Substrate doesn't matter, but a little bit will add some asthetic to the tank. Go with PCs and a small filter and heater along with a small powerhead and you should have a nice frag tank.

to help keep the water more stable (in both you frag tank and your main tank), you could tie the frag tank in with your display tank. you wouldn't need another heater or skimmer then either...
alls you would really need is a small pump or powerhead to supply water from you sump to your frag tank and then an overflow (or drilled) in the 10g frag tank to go back to your sump.
