Fragging a Gorgonia?

I bought a cool gorgonia a few days ago and apparently my eyes were a little bigger than my tank. The spot I had picked out for it is not big enough, and I would like to frag the thing. Are there any special procedures (besides not taking it out of the water) that I should follow?

Yosemite Sam,
Garf had a section about fragging gorgonians. From what I remember, you just cut them where you wish, with the new piece, cut back about 1/2" or so of the flesh, and then stick the "stem" in a hole in a piece of rock and super glue it in place. You can also stuff styrofoam in the hole to keep it in place. Just make sure that the fleshy part does not come in to contact with the super glue. The "parent" should heal, and the flesh will cover the area where the super glue is as it grows.
Best of luck

Kelly, thanks for the info. That's basically what I had in mind, but always nice to get a second opinion :joy: Reefman, you're right, I wouldn't want to do anything else. It's a pain at times and graduate school is mindnumbing, but in the end it's worth it. Good to see another archie on the board.
