Easiest way would be a wet-tile saw. A dremel would work I guess, but would probably cause more damage.

chew a very small piece of gum as fast as you can.. You will frag that tongue in no time

Depends on which kind of tongue coral you are talking about? Ctenactis is I guess the most common. Herpolitha I rarely see and Ployphyllia is another one that is not stumbled upon too often.
