IN my experience fraggiong branching corals like frogspawn or other euphyllia you want a circular cutter. the skeletons are partially hollow and using snip style cutters tends to crush the skeletons sometimes fracturing them vertically, which is a bad thing. either a dremel or a roto zip tool with a cut off wheel is the best tool for those sorts of corals, you can also use a motorized wet tile cutter. lacking a rotary cutter you can actually use a hacksaw blade to make the cuts if you are carefull.
