Fraggins Shrooms Problem

I've fragged a few shrooms and am having a problem. I cut them, netted them and then placed them in a low flow area. After a few days, they just disappear! I don't know what's going on here! Did they die? This has happened three times now with three different sets of shrooms. My non-fragged shrooms are doing great! Any suggestions that might help me out?

i assume that all shrooms act this way, but mine at night shrivel up, maybe yours did to and fell threw the netting

they will slime away if they are not happy
i think they will slime until there is nothing left of them ... try another method of attachment
like a no flow area... if you have a fuge or maybe get a HO acrylic separator to let them attach to a rock .... does that make sense

Makes sense! I tried the super glue method last night- didn't work either! I think next I am going to try the shot glass method- putting a mushroom and rock in a shotglass in no flow area and hope it attaches!

You really shouldnt have to frag these.. I just point a PH at them... within a week i'll get triple the amount of them. Then you can just peel off the new ones and super glue them where you want the new colony to grow.

How do you get the superglue to work? I have read all the posts that have to do w/fragging them, followed everyones suggestions to the "t" and they still didn't stay! In the morning, I end up with a free floating shroom and a piece of LR with a glob of glue on it!

I just dry an area on the stalk of the new colony and place a drop of glue on the bottom. Then I press it up to the rock im glueing it to.. Place it back in the water and im done. Ive always had good luck with this method on most soft corals.

That's what I did! I even put them in a seperate tank with hardly any flow! Do you know of any other ways to get them to attach? I might just put some rubble pieces close to him and just wait and see!

Point a Power Head at them. When they don't like where they are (in this case, too much flow) they move and leave little babies behind!

It is a great way to get more mushrooms for free! The only draw back is you can't control where the mushroom is moving to! That's the reason why I am tyring to frag them myself!

I've had some shrooms that moved because of too much flow, but they aren't leaving babies behind. Any idea why?

How long ago did they move? One of mine moved and it took a week for a baby to show up. If it's been a while, I am not sure why it didn't leave babies behind. I'm sure someone on this site will know!!!
I did notice last night that one of my "failed" frags that squeezed through the net has split into about six or seven little babies on a near by rock- pretty interesting that they can basically become ooze and reproduce that way!

Well, I've got some green mottled shrooms that have been moving all over the place for the last month or so and I've yet to notice any babies. I also had a purple shroom that moved quite a bit about a month ago as well. No babies from that one either. I do have some rics that are leaving lots of little babies though.
