freakin' micro bubbles

i have had an ongoing micro bubble problem. first tried putting a bubble trap on my skimmer. didnt work. next, shut off the skimmer for several hours. didnt work. next, got rid of sponge filters on p.heads and replaced with fiberglass screen. didnt work. bubbles seem to be coming from my powersweep p.head every few minutes or so. (all my p.heads are totally submerged, no airlines) so i tried turning off the p.heads for a short time. the bubble shooting powerhead would shoot out a bunch of bubbles as soon as i turn it back on. so i tried turning it on to let the bubbles be ejected and immediately turned it back off again letting the tank "rest" so the buubles would get to the top of the tank. i did this several times but that p.head keeps getting air from somewhere. Where? My tank is filtered by live rock and a protien skimmer only. these bubbles are driving me nuts. help

not that i can see. i have tried moving it a little lower but to no avail. it couldnt have any thing to do with my water could it? all tests say it's good. i just cannot figure this one out.

Ok, does it have an air line inlet? If so, is it plugged?
I'm thinking that you're getting air bubbles from the surface that are entering the PH, and being blown out.
Mine do this too. They get minute amounts of air, and then expel it all at once. It looks like a whale's blowhole.
