I have 2 black long spined urchins both healthy and beautiful. I decided to keep one of them to keep my reef diverse. Anyone who wants the other can email me at Godblesswtc@aol.com. I live in Astoria, New York, if anyone is close they can pick it up anytime. They both hitched on my lr months ago and are about 2-3 inches in size. thanks, Frank.

i had posted some questions regarding crabs (scarlet, blue, emerald and sally's) getting alone with snails and cleaner shrimp. I noticed u had them all. How do you find that they get along? Is it a war zone? or do they all seem to get along?

Everything gets along fine. The only time I had a problem was when I added a few bumble bee snails which were attacked and killed for the shells by my blueleg hermits. Otherwise I've never had a problem. The only thing I don't have is a sally lightfoot crab. I think they are predatory or might pick on polyps but I'm not sure. I don't remember the reason why I stayed away from them.

ROFL.. SURE.. go ahead.. make me more paranoid about these 2 sally lightfoots!! lol
i keep get'n a lot of conflicting stuff ont hese guyz.. lol... i'm told their NORMAL behavior is fine and reef safe - BUT you get an occassional disident that might go after a small fish, war w/others, etc...
i've finally talked myself into thinking it will be ok... and u tell me they 'might' go after polyps?? and my first 2 corals coming in are a Green Star POLYP and a yellow POLYP!!! lol
lmao
Anyone got any experience w/sally light foots and polyps or other corals??

I don't think you have to worry too much about it. I have no personal experience with them but went back and read that when they grow larger they may become aggresive and go after small fish and inverts. What I have learned is that every tank and its inhabitants will be different. I've heard of people having problems with emeralds and pepermints but have never seen any destructive behavior with mine. Just keep an eye on them as they get older.

I have 2 tanks set up with polyps & coral with sallys. Never a problem. I have seen one of them forcefully evict a blueleg. I think your safe.
