Free Xenia

I don't know if I'm posting this in the right topic, but if not mods, please move it to the right one.
I have a ton of free xenia that has grown huge in my tank. So, I am giving huge chunks away to anyone who is located in the Chicagoland area. Just send me a Pm or post here.

Hey.. what's up. I live in the city and will be getting my tank sometime next week. I'll try to get in contact with you in a couple of weeks after my tank has cycled see if you have any xenia to give away :)

Don't worry, I will still have some. It reproduces pretty fast. I went from 1 stalk about 6 months ago to around 50 now.

Wow thats crazy. I've read some horror stories about Xenia reproducing really fast and being somewhat of a "weed" but I don't mind I think they are pretty awesome looking. Thanks for offering to give some away instead of just flushing it

No problem, I also love the way they look, especially when full. I just don't want them to over run my other corals.

What a sweetheart to share instead of killing it! Have you checked with the fish stores, you might be able to make a little cash or at the very least get free fishfood in trade.

Might only concern with shipping would be that it wouldn't make it, since xenia is not a really good shipper from what I have heard. Also, I am not really familiar with shipping any live goods, I haven't done it...

I already had to toss a few branches out today because they were grabing hold of my monti's

I surround my xenia with finger coral/rubble rock. Once it has grown onto the finger coral I chop it off, and have an immediate frag. I've found this to be the easiest way to contain it.

xenia is not a good shipper. if you do, throw some small pieces of carbon in with the xenia

still wont do good. done it before and bad results. best thing is to go pick it up
