NO. You need to use Live sand. Type that in the search button at the top.

I agree. Gravel will not allow any of your detris eating critters to "sift" around. If LS is too pricey you can use plain aquarium sand but it does not have the benefits that live sand has (microrganisms). It will become semi-live once you get your rock in and your system has had time to mature though.

Is your tank cycled yet? Get sand sifting critters. Don't vacume it. Your sand will be a source of biological filtration. Get enough detrivores to maintain the sandbed.

Tank has been up and going for a year with 60lbs of live rock, fish, crabs, and shrimp.

Add more sifters and let them go to work. SWF has a nice package of detrivores.
