Freshwater canister ok for saltwater

Im taking down a freshwater tank that had a lil canister on it will it be ok if i was all sponges and carbon and use it in my saltwater tank for media and sponges woth my wet/dry, thanks

wash the sponges toss out the carbon and replace it with new. Also, what size canister, what size tank, what size sump?

Frequent cleaning of the canister is very important. You can skip some cleaning for a FWA but not in a SWA.

I use the fluval 3 on mine and it also helps circulate the water. Once i get the correct amount of live rock however i am going to get rid of all the filters and just use the live rock for filtration and add more power heads. I have a 75 gallon by the way
