Freshwater-Live Rock

If I gave my live rock a freshwater dip, would it kill the coralline algae? I'd like to see if it would kill aiptasias that have taken over about 3 or 4 of my rocks. (I have about 300 lbs of rock, so I'm not worried about killing off too much life on 4 of the rocks)
Thanks.

I wouldn't rely on a freshwater dip to kill aiptasia.... they're hardy buggers. I think the coralline would be okay, just don't expose it to air for a prolonged amount of time ... it will die. :D

No, Antron. I'm the OTHER famous Debbie G :)
How's this for a new one? The guy at my LFS said that one of his customers put a aiptasia-infested rock in a pot full of tank water and put it in the fridge overnight. The next day, all the aiptasias were on the bottom of the pot and all was well with the rock. I just may have to do that evil experiment on a small rock. Anyone hear of doing that?
Thanks for the replies.

Sure, the rock was alright .... but if there was any living critters on it, they're dead also. You now have a piece of dead rock .... it's up to you! :D
