Hey, tell me about that staghorn hermit. What does it eat, do you see it often, would you recommend it for a reef aquarium, etc?

Excellant addition to the 6-pak tradition. I like the selection of zoos...very nice. I believe sammystingray once kept a staghorn hermit...he can probably provide some info on them.....:cool:

The staghorn hermit crab (manucomplanus varian), uses a living staghorn hydrocoral (janaria mirabilis) for its shell.
Ours is out all the time, stays on the sandbed and is continuously munching on detritus and leftover food the fish leave behind. We have never had any problems with it in our reef.
