Worst day of my life. I get a text message while at work from my wife. It said "Been in an accident. car totaled. Called 911. Can't get out". My wife and son are in the car. So I called her instantly. The brakes falled on the car. She drive the car into the woods and hit a tree.
I left work and sped home. I arrived to see 2 ambulances and a fire truck behind my house down by the woods. I ran down to the edge of the woods and saw the car smashed against a tree( the tree was in the middle of the trunk). My wife was on a stretcher coming up the hill. I asked her if she was okay and where is Noah (my 8 year old son). He was still in the back seat of the car.
I ran to the car and saw my little boy in the back seat still with a neck brace on. The first thing he said to me was "Daddy, mommy missed the garden but hit the tree". They loaded both of them up and took them to the hospital.
The brakes went on the car right when my wife pulled into the driveway. She drove past the house to miss going into house. She then missed 2 apple trees while going past the house downhill. She hit a dirt driveway really hard(took a 2 foot by 2 foot chunk out of the ground). She managed to get the car stopped but then it started to roll backwards (No brakes and tranmission is gone now). She hit a tree about doing 35 mph.
They are home from the hospital with some bumps and bruises but no major injury.
Car is still in the woods, I'll try to get pics tomorrow.
First time ever that life as I know it stood still. I mean the world stopped when this happened. They could of been killed if not for the fast reaction of my wife. Thank god they are okay.

The title of your thread is incorrect. It is actually the very best day of your entire life. Your dear wife and child are unharmed when they could have been killed. The car missed the house and the garden and hit a tree nobody cared about. The car is insured I assume.
I’m so happy for you that they are already home with you and not still in the hospital. God was very kind to you today. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. It was good day, a very good day indeed.
Glad you and yours are safe tonight.

I have to agree with Flower. I know what you mean about it being the worse day ever. I have not had to deal with an accident or issue that large but anyone with a spouse or kids understand that anytime they hurt you almost die a little inside. However GOD was watching that day and he said not today! You are all blessed. A great day indeed! I wish them both a fast recovery.

+1 on Flower's thoughts, dodged a major bullet there. I assume your car is still in the woods because the police want to investigate to see what is up with the brakes?

Yeah, but I got lucky! The mother of the person who stole it returned it to me just now. Everything (cash, gift cards, social security card, credit cards) was still inside, untouched! =)

Those wallet pictures are like 20 on a sheet...you lost them all?

With those debit cards today a lost wallet is serious indeed.
I also had my purse stolen at gun point once..at the time my ************** was the most pain to replace. I lived in Chicago back then and a trip to the DMV was like you had to take the day off work and camp out at the door and go through a line being screened, if you didn’t have all your ducks in a row they wouldn’t let you go any farther and sent you home to do it all over again the next day.

.
Way back when...lol...when my kids were little....I did not have many "professional" pics done (I was poor) SO the pics in my wallet were either given to me, or cut from a snapshot
TODAY....I have folders of extras...plus most are on my computer :)

Thank so much for the support. 2 days since the accident. Noah my son is back to his normal self. He showed me the next day what happened. He had Spiderman and Iron Man in the Spidey-mobile. He acted the whole incident out.
Yesterday i called AAA to towed the car out of the woods. He came and I showed him where the car was. He asked me to see if I could drive it out of the forest. I climbed in the car and thought"Hmmmm, it's totaled. Let's see what I could do." I started the engine which shocked me that it started. I pushed the brakes on to put it into drive. Then which I loved, I just gunned the piece of &^%$ and it made it out of the forest. I slammed it into Park doing about 20mph so I wouldn't hit the tow truck. it felt good to take some aggression out on that car. Got it towed home. Called a junk yard and bye bye.
I agree that friday was the best day of my life but if you ever walked up to your spouse on a stretch and son on a stretcher then that is what made it the worst day of my life.
The wife is still very sore but they r both safe and healthy. Thanks so much everybody. I can honestly say that was the most scariest 10 minutes of my life.

It was the very best day of your life, you wasted 10 years on a cheating you know what, she most likely has been cheating all the while, and you just caught her this time. Be thankful you are rid of her, and didn't pick up a deadly STD to boot.

You sent it to the junk yard without having the insurance co look at it first? Hope it was an old car without comp coverage.
