Friend Offered Emrald Crab

My friend offered me a Emrald Crab, this thing is BIG. Just its body is 3in. and wit claws and all probly 5-6in. I was wondering if it would be a good addition to my 16G reef, although it has no perpose, I really like it. Would it be wise to get it? Why or why not? Thanks guys, you've helped me alot!

good for nuisance algae, however, have heard of larger ones going after smaller fish
why, is it that they are getting rid of it?

I would not take it. An emerald that size could dislodge and knock over things.

I just purchased 3 that are about 1/2" body length yesterday. They are neat to have if you have trouble algae or bubble. That one that you were offered, I wouldn't consider putting in my 55 gallon let alone a 16 gallon. But one that is small first.
